Winlink Secure Login

  • Winlink 2000 secure login is supported in the client programs (not wl2kax25d) if the WL2K web mail password is configured.
    • This can be done in the wl2k.conf file, or with the command line options -P or --wl2k-passwd.
  • Thanks to Brian WB4ES for providing the patch to enable Winlink Secure Login for paclink-unix
    • This patch was applied to paclink-unix source May 2013.
  • To determine if your version of paclink-unix supports Winlink Secure Login type 'wl2ktelnet -?' and look for this line:
-P --wl2k-passwd Set password for WL2K secure login

Example config file entry

  • The config file exists in /usr/local/etc/wl2k.conf
# Winlink 2000 secure login password
# If you have a WL2K password and have enabled secure login,
# you must provide that password in order to successfully connect.
wl2k-password=your_password
